For those who were able to attend the launch party for Love Fed Cookbook, I have a feeling they got a taste of something sweet! Not just from the desserts that were served but from the vibes that were emanating from the beautiful energy created by participants and attendees. I’ll try to paint a picture for those of you who wanted to attend but couldn’t.
Much like a birth, wedding, graduation any celebration really it can be anything you dream, believe and craft it to be. For me the launch was a success, so many people and vendors partnered with me to make it a special day, full of new and old friends, community and celebration. I met many bloggers and even met readers face-to-face, (thank you that was so cool to know who reads Love Fed). There were also cute babes and kids galore! Many guests commented on the turn out being a success and I’m guessing over 50 people attended as I had 50 goodie bags thanks to Whole Foods Market Venice, that were all handed out.
I served 3 cakes and 1 cupcake recipe which included my agents favorite cake “Strawberry Sublime,” in which he adoringly calls “strawberry crack cake”. I loved seeing guests enjoy my desserts and get excited over the recipes in Love Fed.
Nova even ate his first piece of cake, and by piece I mean a whole cube of Raspberry Macadamia Cake in which he stole from Jason Wrobel’s plate. Luckily he was considerate and fed Jason a cube of Chocolate cake before stealing his raspberry cube (that’s my baby)! I was touched to have Jason in attendance as I feel connected to him through social media and knew I had to meet this happy fun loving fella in real life! I also had the pleasure of hanging with quite a few bloggers such as Veganfatkid, Yvonne_deliciously_vegan, real mom of SFV, & Melanie from My Love & Beyond.
The beautiful and flourishing garden curated by Farmscape at my favorite shop in Santa Monica Lazybones USA was full of life! From vendors such as Main Squeeze to Rebbl Tonic to Sara from Rudy’s braiding hair with Stevan Morris sitting close by on a vibrant vintage quilt playing his soothing yet cheery handpan. Cole from Caro Bambino even set up a fun kids/baby play area with all of her wheely toys from the shop and a crate craft table. The kids interacted beautifully together and I dare say partied harder than us adults!
I’m still touched beyond measure a few days later thinking about all of the help and support I received from friends pitching in to sell books, to my assistant jumping in wherever needed, to Alex doing everything possible from refilling dessert trays to changing diapers and hanging cupcake liners. Seriously, I sometimes wonder how on earth did I ever get so lucky to have these incredible people in my life, again somebody pinch me but don’t wake me up if I’m dreaming!
Attendees also snapped some lovely photos that I will share with you now. I was literally at times nursing Nova and signing books so it was pretty much not even on my mind to snap a single photo although if I did it over again I would encourage more people to snap some shots at the photo booth Alex and I made with props (I’m not sure anyone knew the props were for them to use because they looked so perfectly placed, as if they were part of the decor). Thankfully, Ashlee from Lazy Bones managed to snap this shot of Alex and me right as the party was about to kick off and I have to say this shot makes me an extra happy gal (like print it out and place it on my fridge kind of happy)! In fact I’m also hanging the cupcake garland in my test kitchen to fill my creative space with all of the love that filled my launch party!
Thanks again to all who came out and to all who wanted to be there but couldn’t (I know you were there in spirit)! For those of you who got a copy of Love Fed already and feel inspired to write a review on Amazon that would be most helpful and I would be delighted to send you an extra special thank you bonus for doing so. Simply leave me a comment here with your review link and I’ll get back in touch to send you a special treat!
