Earlier this week Alex and I were on our weekly yoga date and happened to stroll by St Matthew’s Thrift Store in Santa Monica. Where we spotted a really cool wooden car by Automoblox that Nova was sure to love.
The modern car was brand new and only cost $5, gotta love second hand shopping! Being that it was Nova’s 20 month birthday that day we felt it was a great time to gift him a toy that was interactive, plus he’s simply over the moon about automobiles right now.
The beautiful car has a sturdy wooden base, interchangeable parts, colors and figurines with different shape base’s for learning. Later I found out that this car costs $45 which I am not surprised given the quality. The brand Automobox also sell minis for $12-$15 which likely means I’ll be buying more of these cars for Nova and friends down the road.
This durable car feels like it’s definitely one of those gifts that I might one day have the privilege to gift to a grandchild. I feel good about things that last in a day and age where every thing feels built to break, this toy is an exception and gives me hope for the future of humanity and our consumer consumption rate.
I can almost guarantee that if you try this car brand out you will not want to buy any other car for your child, niece, nephew, friend. It’s the best I’ve ever had the chance to play with. In fact I wish I had a car like this when I was a kid, but since I’m getting to relive childhood all over again, I’m pretty stoked to play with it as an adult. Now if only I can find a doll with this level of quality and high design…
Have you seen these cars before? What do you think?
***So you know I am in no way affiliated with this company. I just felt compelled to share my new favorite discovery with you all. In my opinion it’s the perfect Holiday or celebration toy/gift if you’re looking for one.
