ABOUT LOVE FED:
What made me drink the Kombucha you ask? It all began when I dared to follow my heart! Sometime in the romantic, blossoming months of Spring, circa 2008, I met my beloved Alex (a French/American artist and designer). We took to each other like chocolate and strawberries inseparable and oh so compatible! Since our union I have followed my heart countless times over, from quitting my corporate job as a recruiter, to starting a wholesale company, a blog, and eventually writing a cookbook. Not to mention taking the biggest leap of all; becoming a mother to our sweet son (Nova).
Intuition, curiosity, experimentation and observation set us both on a path to making conscious food choices resulting in countless health and lifestyle benefits. Naturally the connection was made that the foods we were eating were an exquisite gift from Mother Earth; we could literally feel the energy from the nutrients we were putting into our bodies. She provided for, and fed us with so much tender love.
Once we realized the holistic positive effects of our healthy food choices, there was no turning back. Anything else would have been counterproductive to living out our dreams for healing our planet and restoring utopia, one day! Sharing recipes created using fresh ingredients from nature for the health and benefit of us all is, in fact, giving everyone the opportunity to know what it means to be Love Fed.
Above all, I am an optimist! I’ve been this way since I was a little girl, but that’s not to say it’s always come easily. Maintaining a sense of optimism when life throws challenges at us takes practice. For me that takes the form of self care, reflection, journaling, yoga, gardening, meditation, exercise, good food and above all, feeling gratitude. These practices help shape my reality, creating the beautiful life that I feel blessed to live. Despite the good vibes portrayed on instagram, I’m still human! Some days are harder than others to get out of bed, get involved, feel grounded, find balance, get motivated and live with intention rather than as a reaction. Optimism and gratitude guide me. Gardening never hurt either, and as the saying goes “it’s cheaper than therapy plus you get tomatoes!”
I try to learn from my struggles in hopes of further personal evolution, discovering more truth and deeper awareness about myself. None of us are perfect, we’re all a little batty in our own special way. It’s important to be gentle with ourselves, learn to love and have more compassion for self and others. And… since there is no shame, I’ll just admit it: I’m annoying at times (just ask Alex). Especially once I’ve created a new recipe and then set it down in front of my hungry family and tell them they can’t touch anything until I take a bazillion (okay, maybe only a million) photographs of said dish.
I am passionate about making the world a better place. I love to create organic, holistic, sustainable recipes with whole foods. Food is my art, my joy, my gift to others. This blog allows me to share with you the same recipes I feed myself, my family and my friends. I am so happy to connect with you here and share my experiences in the kitchen, in the garden, as a mother, in holistic living and in this beautiful journey we call life.
